Respondus LockDown Browser (RLDB) is used in some online tests and exams to help maintain academic integrity.

When you complete an assessment using RLDB:

• You cannot print or copy questions
• You cannot open other programs or browser tabs
• You cannot browse the internet during the test

This guide shows you how to download RLDB and complete a practice quiz in the Student Induction space ,
so you know exactly what to expect before sitting an test that requires RLDB.

Download Respondus LockDown Browser (RLDB)

Before taking the practice quiz, you must download and install Respondus LockDown Browser.

1. Visit Download Respondus LockDown Browser (RLDB) , on the Respondus website.
2. Select Download
3. Follow the on‑screen instructions to install the browser

The practice quiz is available in the Student Induction space . You can watch how to take a practice quiz, or view the guide in full text view .

If you have not yet installed RLDB, you will be prompted to download and install it before the quiz can begin

Troubleshooting - Closing the browser

If any technical issue occurs, you may need to close the browser and restart the quiz.

1. Open more information
    
   • Windows computers: Click the Information icon. 
     
   • Mac computers:Click the Globe icon
     
2.  The teacher will then enter a password and close the LockDown Browser for you.
3. The quiz can then be restarted and continued from where it was last saved.

Can I take a Test or Quiz on an iPad?

You can only take a Test or Quiz on an iPad, if your teacher has said you can do so. If you are uncertain, please ask your teacher.
