Accessing Unit Readings
eReserve is the reading list management software that provides unit readings in VU Collaborate. This guide explains how to access readings.
Access readings through VU Collaborate within your current Delivery Space:
- Navigate to Learning Space
- Proceed through the Unit Content
- View an Online Reading OR Download a Reading
Access readings through the Readings Module within your current Delivery Space:

Navigate to Learning Space
1. From your VU Collaborate home page, navigate to a unit space located in My Delivery Spaces.
2. Select Learning Space from the Navbar.
Proceed through the Unit Content
Work through the unit content until a reading is located [refer to image below].
View an Online Reading OR Download a Reading
1. Select the OPEN button to the right of the reading.
Steps to Access Readings through the Readings Module
Navigate to Learning Space
1. From your VU Collaborate home page, navigate to a unit space located in My Learning Spaces.
2. Select Learning Space from the Navbar.
Select Readings
1. Click the Readings module.
2. To access your readings, click the eReserve link ( Readings ).
View Online Reading OR Download a Reading
View Online Reading
1. Select the Session/Group/Topic from the list of groups.
You will need to close the group to move to the other group options.
2. Click anywhere in th reading frame, and the reading will open for reading (electronic) or display copyright and download options (file based (PDF) reading).
Download the Reading
1. If the reading if file based (PDF) it will be downloaded to your device on clicking the Open button. , there is a download button.
How to access student help from within the Readings Module
Student help and explanation of functions such as downloading a complete list of readings, opening/closing groups, and copyright information can be found by clicking on '?', and scrolling through the available options.
How to Access Readings on Apple Mobile Devices
Currently, you will not be able to view VU Collaborate Readings on your iPhone and iPads with Google Chrome. The workaround is to use Safari with the settings configured as follows below.

Trying to view readings on iPhones and iPads, with Google Chrome will give you a recommendation for Brower Support.
Safari Setting to View Readings
To view readings on iPhones and iPads, you will need to use Safari with the following settings ( Prevent Cross-Site Tracking & Block All Cookies settings ) toggled OFF.
Go to your settings, scroll down to Privacy and Security and toggle OFF the following settings.
- Prevent Cross-Site Tracking (toggle Off)
- Block All Cookies (toggle Off)
You should now be able to access and view your Readings.
